Abstract

Objective To study the angiographical characteristics of the patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) complicating metabolic syndrome(MS),and the correlation with risk factors [tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and high sensitive C reactive protein(hs-CRP)].Methods The levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG),2 hours postprandial blood glucose(2hPBG),triglyceride(TG),cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),TNF-α,hs-CRP in CHD patients were measured.Body weigh index and blood pressure were measured by routine technique.Coronary arterial stenosis of 135 CHD patients were measured by the image manipulation system of angiography. The relationship between MS and coronary stenosis severity in CHD was analysed. Results The incidence of CHD patients accompanied with MS was 36%,multi factor anova analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between the levels of FBG,2hPBG,TG,TC,LDL-C,TNF-α,hs-CRP,blood pressure and the grade of coronary arteritenosis severity. The grade of coronary arteristenosis severity in CHD patients with MS was higher than in CHD patients without MS.TNF-α and hs-CRP levels in CHD patients with MS were higher than those in CHD without MS.Conclusions The grade of coronary arteristenosis severity in CHD patients complicating MS was higher than in CHD patients not complicating MS.than it may be one of the predictor of severity of coronary arterial stenosis in CHD.TNF-α and hs-CRP levels were higher in CHD patients than those in CHD patients without MS.
