Clinical observation of carvedilol treatment in patients with congestive heart failure

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effects and safety of carvedilol in the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods 70 patients with chronic heart failure were randomly divided into conventional group and carvedilol group,Conventional group were given routine treatment such as using nitric acid ester,diuretics,digitalis preparations,ACEI or ARB etc.while carvedilol was added on routine treatment in carvedilol group,period of treatment for six months.Results Compared with conventional group,NYHA class was improved more significantly in carvedilol group(P0.05),and carvedilol group can significantly increased LVEF,reduce LVDd.Conclusion Carvedilol in the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure(NYHA-FC Ⅱ~Ⅲ class) is effective,safe,and shows the role of improving left ventricular remodeling.
