Abstract
50 mice were randomly allocated to 5 groups to study the antioxidant effects of L-carnitine on D-galactose induced aging mice.Apart from a control group,D-galactose model group, the LC treatment groups were at three level such as 0.25,0.50 and 1.00 g/kg·d.Using the subacute D-galactose induced aging model, the mice were killed after 6 weeks of experiment and detected the level of SOD,GSH-Px and MDA in the blood, brain and liver tissue. The results showed that the activity of SOD and GSH-Px in blood, brain and liver tissue were significantly increased after treated with L-carnitine,while the contents of MDA were decreased. It indicated that the L-carnitine had anti-aging effects in mice, and the mechanism might be correlated with its antioxidation.
