Abstract
Objective: To investigate the feasibility of topical anesthesia in compound trabeculectomy and evaluate its effectiveness.Methods: 37 cases(48 eyes) with glaucoma were performed the compound trabeculectomy under topical anesthesia with Alcaine.The effects of anesthesia and intraoperative and postoperative complications were observed.Results: 45 eyes(93.8%) were anaesthetized successful,no local and systemic complications appeared.Conclusion: Topical anesthesia can be used effectively and safely for compound trabeculectomy of glaucoma,it deserve to be spreaded.
