Abstract
Objective:To investigate effects of Shengwujian Oral Liquid on humoral immunity, cellular immunity, red blood cell (RBC) immunity and macrophage-phagocyte system (MPS).Methods:To observe the effects of Shengwujian Oral Liquid on serum IgG and complement C 3 content, white blood cell (WBC) count, RBC immune adhering function, 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) induced-delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) and phagocytic ability of macrophage in either normal mice or cyclophosphamide (CY)-induced-immunosuppressed mice.Results:Serum IgG and complement C 3 contents were increased in normal and/or CY-induced-immunosuppressed mice (P0.05~0.01); CY-induced-leucopenia was improved (P0.01); RBC immune adhering function was enhanced (P0.01); phagocytosis of macrophage was elevated (P0.01); DNFB induced-DTH was potentiated (P0.01).Conclusions:Shengwujian Oral Liquid possesses a similar ability of a biological response modifier as levamisole.
