Abstract

Objective: To study the effect of Shengjiyuhong ointment on the wound healing of rat back through the separate treatment of Shengjiyuhong ointment and normal saline. Methods: 96 rats with back wounds contaminated by human excrement were randomly divided into two groups. The rats in the treatment group were dressed with Shengjiyuhong ointment while the rats in the control group were dressed with the normal saline. The basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) of 3-day,7-day and 14-day moldings and the completely healed days as well as the content of hydroxyproline(Hyp) were measured separately in the two groups and the healing time and the healing rate of the 3-day,7-day and 14-day moldings were also recorded. Results: The statistical analysis showed the bFGF,Hyp content of the wounds of the 3-day molding of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P0.05).The bFGF,Hyp content of the wounds of the 7-day molding of the treatment group was obviously higher than that of the control group(P0.01).The bFGF,Hyp content of the wounds of the 14-day molding of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group(P0.05).The bFGF、Hyp content of the completely healed group showed no difference statistically(P0.05).The wound healing time of the treatment group was less than that of the control group P0.05)and the healing rates of the 3-day,7-day and 14-day moldings were higher than those of the control group. Conclusion: Shengjiyuhong ointment has the promoting effect on the wound healing of the rats back and its mechanism is related to the synthesis of collagen and growth factors in wound granulation tissue.
