Clinical Analysis on Phacoemulsification for High Myopia Complicated with Cataract

[Objectives]To observe the clinical effect of phacoemulsification for high myopia complicated with cataract.[Methods]The cases of phacoemulsification for high myopia complicated with cataract in the Affiliated People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical College from May 2005 to May 2009 were analyzed retrospectively.The routine eye examination was performed before operation,and patients received phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation under topical anesthesia with conditions of low energy,low negative pressure and low flow.The intraoperative and postoperative complications,and corrected visual acuity were observed.[Results]The postoperative visual acuity improved in different degree,and posterior capsule rupture occurred in one eye(1/100).[Conclusion]The phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation under topical anesthesia with conditions of low energy,low negative pressure and low flow for high myopia complicated with cataract is safe and effective.
