With Cross-Section Research to Explore into the Strategy of Medical Statistics Teaching in TCM Colleges

Aim To review the present situation in teaching of medical statistics in student’s point of view, and discuss the measures to improve the teaching method of medical statistics in TCM colleges, which would supply the basic information for improvement of teaching effect and rational design of the curriculum. Method 25 students of the Seven-Year Program at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine were used as the research subject , and the cross-section research was adopted in teaching of medical statistics and student’s willingness of study. Result Out of the 25 students, 10 male students (40%) think that there should be more periods of theoretical study and computer operation time. They suggest 14 more periods for theoretical study. It is necessary to have a better understanding of the importance of medical statistics. Conclusion The theoretical study and computer operation should be carried out simultaneously, and the teaching and exam methods must be improved.
