Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of losartan on reversing left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with mild-moderate essential hypertension.Methods An auto-control open trial was used in the study.Sixty-four patients with mild-moderate essential hypertension were treated with losartan 50～100 mg/d for 12 weeks.The blood pressure,echocardiograph and drug safety were observed.Rusult After 12 weeks,treatment,the blood pressure was decreased(P0.05),IVST,LVPWT,and LVMI were decreased(P0.01).Conclusion Losartan is effective in treating hypertension and reversing left ventricular hypertrophy.
