Abstract

Objective To study the expression and significance of P53,nm23-H1 and MMP-9 in colorectal carcinoma and their correlations with clinical pathologic parameters and prognosis. Methods Expressions of p53,nm23-H1 and MMP-9 were detected in 78 cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma and in 30 cases of normal mucosa by immunohistochemical staining(LSAB method). Results(1) The positive rates of P53 and MMP-9 expression in the colorectal adenocarcinoma(56.41% and 58.97% respectively) were significantly higher than those in the normal tissues(13.33% and 6.67% respectively)(P0.01).The positive rate of nm23-H1(39.74%) expression in the colorectal adenocarcinoma was significantly lower than that in the normal tissues(83.33%)(P0.01).(2) The positive rates of P53 and MMP-9 expression were positively correlated with metastasis of lymph nodes and adenocarcinoma infiltration(P0.01).The positive rate of nm23-H1 expression was negatively correlated with metastasis of lymph nodes and adenocarcinoma infiltration(P0.01). Conclusion The combined detection of P53,nm23-H1 and MMP-9 in colorectal adenocarcinoma may be helpful for the understanding of biological characteristics of colorectal adenocarcinoma and prognosis of patients.
