Abstract

[Objective] To study the relationship of E2F-1 and P27 expression to occurence of colorectal adenocarcinoma and its clinical significance.[Methods] The expressions of E2F-1 and P27 were detected in 78 colorectal adenocarcinomas,30 colorectal adenomas and 20 normal colorectal mucosa by immunohistochemical SP method.[Results] The positive expression rate of E2F-1(55.13%) in the carcinoma was higher than those in colorectal adenoma(6.67%) and mucosa(0%)(P0.05).The expression of E2F-1 in colorectal carcinoma was positively related to pathological grade, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.05).P27 positive rate in normal colorectal mucosa(100%) was higher than those of colorectal adenoma(53.33%)and colorectal carcinoma(15.38%).The expression of P27 in colorectal carcinoma was negatively related to pathological grade, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.05).In colorectal carcinoma,E2F-1 and P27 expressions were negatively correlated(r=-0.393,P0.01).[Conclusion] E2F-1 and P27 is closely related to the colorectal adenocarcinoma occurrence, and both of them may have possibilities as biological markers in colorectal adenocarcinoma.
