Abstract

Objective To explore the significance of survivin and C-myc protein expressions in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and squamous cell carcinoma(SCC).Methods The expressions of survivin and C-myc protein in 60 cases of CIN and 40 of SCC were detected by immunohistochemistrical tecnique;and that in 10 cases of non-CIN by PV-6000 and PV-9003 me-thods.Results No expressions of survivin and C-myc were noted in non-CIN group. The positive expressions of survivin and C-myc in both CIN and SCC groups were much higher than that in the non-CIN group(Hc=23.209,21.315;q=18.086-26.022;P0.01).The positive expressions of survivin and C-myc gradually increased along with the increase of CIN grading(Hc=45.633,36.383;q=6.331-11.498;P0.01).The differences of positive expressions of both survivin and C-myc between CINⅢ and SCC,as well as CINⅠand non-CIN were significant(q=6.078-26.156,P0.01).The differences of positive rates of survivin and C-myc in SCC were significant in the following conditions: between well-and moderately-differentiated and poorly-differentiated group, between with or without lymph-node metastasis, and clinically, between stage 1-2 and stage 3-4(χ2=6.000-10.909,P0.05).Both survivin and C-myc were positively correlated with CIN and SCC(r=0.680,0.722;P0.01).Conclusion Survivin and C-myc play a joint action in the occurrence and development of CIN and SCC,a combined detection of the two parameters is of great significance in assessment of biological behaviour of CIN and SCC.
