Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship among plasma visfatin,IL-6,TNF-α with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods: 60 T2DM patients were selected as T2DM group and 30 healthy subjects as control group.According to body mass index(BMI) they were divided into two groups: obese group and non-obese group.Visfatin,IL-6,TNF-α,free insulin,HbA1c,free glucose, blood pressure, lipids were measured and the waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),BMI,homeostasis model assessment of insulin r esistance(HOMA-IR) were calculated. Results: Visfatin,IL-6 and TNF-α level was significantly higher in T2DM group than that in control group(P0.05);Visfatin(301.60±58.07)level was significantly higher in non-obese group of T2DM group than that in obese group of con-trols.Visfatin(336.68±37.61)and TNF-α(3.58±1.10)level was significantly higher in obese group of T2DM group than that in obese group of controls; The multiple logistic regression anlysis showed that, the TNF-α to glycosylated hemoglobin, the IL-6 to blood sugar, the visfatin levels was positively related to waist-hip ratio(WHR) in obese T2DM group(P0.05).Conclusions: The change of plasma IL-6,TNF-α and visfatin level may play a role in the pathogenesis and develonpment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
