Abstract

[Objective] To study the indoor air formaldehyde and benzene compounds content in the newly decorated houses in Zhongshan city.[Methods] The newly decorated houses within 3 months were detected,the detected items included formaldehyde,benzene,toluene,dimethylbenzene,and all the results were analyzed.[Results] The average concentration of formaldehyde,benzene,toluene,dimethylbenzene was(0.052±0.054) mg/m 3,(0.069±0.155) mg/m 3,(0.296±1.152) mg/m 3 and(0.218±0.226) mg/m 3 respectively.The concentration of dimethylbenzene was significantly relative with that of benzene and toluene(P0.01).The spot qualified rate of formaldehyde,benzene,toluene,dimethylbenzene was 85.34%,91.81%,83.19%,87.93% respectively.The total qualified rate of places was 45%.The qualified rate of household,cabaret,exhibition hall and marketplace,entertainment public place and office was 50%,50%,67%,0%,33% respectively.[Conclusion] Air pollution of formaldehyde and benzene compounds was serious in the newly decorated houses in Zhongshan city.It is necessary to strengthen detection and control of the indoor air in the newly decorated houses.
