Air Pollution Status in 74 Newly-Decorated Living Rooms in Beijing

[Objective]To investigate the pollution of formaldehyde,benzene series and ammonia in the newly-decorated living rooms in Beijing.[Methods]74 newly-decorated living rooms were randomly selected;formaldehyde,benzene,toluene,xylene and ammonia in the air were detected.[Results]The concentrations of these toxicants were 0.10 mg/m3,0.27 mg/m3,2.57 mg/m3,0.91 mg/m3 and 0.23 mg/m3 respectively.[Conclusion] The indoor air pollution is quite serious in the newly-decorated living rooms;comprehensive measures should be taken to deal with it.
