Abstract

Objective: To study a new system of determining trace iron(Ⅲ). Methods: Catalytic kinetic spectrophotometry. Results: Iron(Ⅲ) in NaOH can catalyze the discolouring oxidation of 4,5-dibromo-o-nitrophenylfluorone (DBON-PF) by H 2O 2,a new method for determining trace iron(Ⅲ) was established. The detection limit of the method is 8.0 × 10 -10 ?g/ml and the range of determination is 0~0 2?μg/10ml. Conclusion: The method has high sensitivity and selectivity. Satisfactory results were obtained for the determination of trace iron(Ⅲ) in tea.
