Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of pulmonary surfactant(PS)on neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS).Methods Nineting patients with NRDS were treated with mechanical ventilation and PS(treatment group),another 20 patients were treated with mechanical ventilation(control group).Gestational age and newborn weight were similar(P0.05)between two groups. All patients were evaluated in blood-gas analysis, the parameter of mechanical ventilation, mechanical ventilation time, complications, time in hospital and fatality rate. Results After PS treatment, the level of PaO2 increased remarkably(P0.01),and the level of PaCO2 decreased greatly(P0.01).The PiP,MAP and FiO2 dropped obviously(P0.01).The mechanical ventilation time, complications and time in hospital were different significantly between two groups(P0.05).The fatality rate was not different between two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion PS therapy has more curative effect on NRDS,it can improve oxygenation of NRDS and reduce the mechanical ventilation time, complications and time in hospital, but it can not reduce the fatality rate.
