TREATMENT OF NEONATAL RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME WITH PULMONARY SURFACTANT IN 58 CASES

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of pulmonary surfactant treatment on neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS). Methods Retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics of 58 NRDS between January 2009 and December 2011,29 neonates received pulmonary surfactant were the treatment group,29 neonates who received no surfactant replacement therapy were the control group,two groups were given conventional treatment such as mechanical ventilation. Results The treatment group and control group survival rates were 96.5%(28/29),72.4%(21/29) respectively,the treatment group survival rate was higher,(χ2= 6.525,p0.05);mechanical ventilation time were(51.62±19.47) h,(78.32±19.98) h respectively,the treatment group ventilation time cut down(t=9.13,p0.05),the difference was statistically significant;comparing FiO2,there was a significant difference,p0.01. Conclusion Pulmonary surfactant effect on NRDS was satisfactory outcome,it could reduce NRDS fatality rate,cut down the ventilation time.
