Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of cyclin D1 gene and p53,and their relationship in gastric carcinoma. Methods In situ hybridyzation and immunohistochemical techniques were used to detect the expression of cyclin D1 mRNA and p53 protein. Results The positive rate of cyclin D1 mRNA in gastric carcinoma and normal tissue was 54.80% and 28.76% respectively, with significant difference( P 0.05).The cyclin D1 mRNA expression had no correlation to the tumor differenciation?tumor invasion?lymph node metastasis and pathologicl stage. The p53 positive rate was 32.87%.The expression of cyclin D1 mRNA was not associated with the p53 protein expression. Conclusion The overexpression of cyclin D1 and p53 play an important role seperately in the carcinogenesis of gastric carcinoma.
