Abstract
Objective To assess the correlation letween serum CA199,CA242and the progression of gastric carcinoma. Methods Serum CA199,by microne enzyme im-mune analyis(MEIA)and CA242,by enzyme immune analysis(EIA)were both measured in270patients with gastric carcinoma,32casses of benign gastric disorders and52cases of normal contrals. Results The levels of serum CA199and CA242in gastric carcinoma were significantly higher than that in benign gastric disorders or normal con-trols(P0.01);serum CA199and CA242were positively correlated with the stages of gas-tric carcinoma;but their relations to the histologic type were not significant. Conclusions Determination of serum CA199and CA242is helpful to the diagnosis of gastric carcino-ma.
