Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To improve the clinical drug use leve in our hospital by analyzing the irrational outpatient prescriptions.METHODS:A total of 7 000 outpatient prescriptions(500 prescriptions were selected randomly every month from May 2007 to June 2008)were analyzed statistically in respect of the irration drug use and the proportion of the irrational prescriptions.RESULTS:Of the 7 000 prescriptions reviewed,115(1.64%)were irrational ones,of which,8(6.96%)involved irrational drug combination in which the toxicity was intensified,22(19.13%)antagonistic effects,15(13.04%)disturbance of absorption and metabolism,66(57.39%)repeated administration, and 4(3.48%)improper choice of drugs.CONCLUSION:The outpatient drug use in our hospital is rational on the whole. However, there are some problems which need clinician's great attention.Meanwhile, hospital should strengthen the prescription evaluation to improve clinical rational drug use level.
