Abstract

Objective To study the influence of meth-ferulic acid on the proliferation and extracellular matrix(ECM) of hepatic satellite cells. Methods The toxicity to HSC caused by MFA was detected using the methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium method. The hydroxyproline, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 and hyaluronic acid in the supernate of HSC were detected using the enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay. Results MFA can inhibit the proliferation of HSC,showing dose and time dependence;all dosage groups of MFA can significantly reduce the HYP,HA,TIMP-1 contents in the supernate of HSC,showing dose and time dependence. Conclusion Through inhibiting the proliferation of HSC,MFA reduce the synthesis of ECM and relieve the hepatic fibrosis.
