Abstract
Objective To investigate the influence of emodin on the proliferation and synthesis of extracellular matrix of hepatic stellate cell line-T6(HSC-T6).Methods The rat hepatic stellate cell line,HSC-T6 was generationally cultured in DMEM medium. The cultured cells were exposed to different concentrations of emodin. The proliferation and collagen synthesis of HSC were detected. The hyaluronic acid(HA)or laminin(LN)of HSC culture mediuln were analyzed. Results Emodin 5~15mg/L markedly inhibited the proliferation of HSC-T6 and reduced the level of HA expression and collagen synthesis.Emodin could block the cell cycle and increase G0/G1 ratio time-dependently.Conclusion Emodin could significantly prevent HSC-T6 cell from proliferation and extracellur matrix synthesis in vitro, which may be one of the mechanisms for the antifibrosis of emodin.
