Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation of P selectin and severity of coronary artery lesion in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS) combined with diabetes mellitus(DM).Methods The levels of serum P selectin were measured in 48 patients with acute coronary syndrome combined with diabetes mellitus(ACS+DM group),40 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS group),and 30 controls. The numbers of impaired coronary artery, left main coronary stenosis,Gensini scoring of coronary stenosis and the levels of serum P selectin were compared respectively. Results The level of P selectin and Gensini scoring of coronary stenosis in ACS+DM group were significantly higher than those in the ACS group and in controls(all P0.01),and the level of P selectin and the Gensini score were higher in ACS group than in the controls(P0.01).There were obvious positive correlations in the levels of serum P selectin with impaired coronary arteries, left main coronary stenosis, and Gensini score(P0.01).Conclusion Serum level of P selectin correlates with coronary artery stenosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome combined with DM.It is an important clinical parameter to reflect the severity of myocardial necrosis.
