The treatment of clcipotriol cream conbined with halometasone cream in plaque psoriasis

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of calcipotriol cream combined with halometasone cream in the treatment of plaque psoriasis. Methods In this trail,we randomly assigned 96 patients who had a plaque psoriasis to undergo a sequential therapy of calcipotriol cream combined with halometasone cream or calcipotriol cream only( control group). The whole patients were treated for 6 weeks. The patients were evaluated for efficacy on week 2,4 and 6 after the initial treatment. Adverse effects were also recorded at each vist. Results The total effective rate was 54. 17% after a sequential therapy for 2 weeks,68. 89% for 4 weeks and 84. 44% for 6 weeks. In the control group,total effective rate at each time point was 33. 33%,46. 67% and 63. 41%. A significant difference was noticed between two groups( P 0. 05). A temporary local erythema,burning,itching and pigmentation may occurred during treatment,and all symptoms can relieve after the treatment. There was one serious adverse event in each group. Compared with control group,the sequential treatment group had lower incidence of adverse reaction( P 0. 05). Conclusion Curative effects of patients treated with a sequential therapy of calcipotriol cream combined with halometasone cream were better than the treatment of calcipotriol cream alone.
