Abstract
n-Pentyl benzoate was synthesized by esterfication of benzoic acid and n-pentanot using SO42-/MoO3-TiO2 as catalyst. Tile results showed that SO42-/MoO3-TiO2 was a good catalyst in this reaction, and the optnnum conditions were as follows: weight of catalyst was 3% of the total weight of reaction materials, activated temperature of catalyst was 500℃,molar ratio of n-pentanol to benzoic acid 4:1,reaction time was 2.5h,reaction temperature was 140~150℃. Under this condition the yield of the ester could reach 81.4%. The experiment also showed that SO42-/MoO3-TiO2 could be recycled for several times with high field of the ester.
