Study on Omeprazole treatment of children with peptic ulcer

Objective:To compare the different options for treatment of children with peptic ulcer and Helicobacter pylori(Hp) eradication.Methods:123 patients with Hp infection in children with peptic ulcer divided into 2 groups for treatment.61 cases of treatment group with Omeprazole 0.8 mg/(kg·d) leighton service for 2 weeks;62 patients of control group with Ranitidine 5 mg/(kg·d),2 times a day orally for 4 weeks.Both groups given additional Amoxicillin 50 mg/(kg·d) and Metronidazole 15 mg/(kg·d),divided equally three times orally.Results:① Ulcer cure rate,97% of treatment group,66% of control group;Hp eradication rate,89% of treatment group,53% of control group.② The ulcer healing rate of Hp eradicated cases was 100%,and 36% of Hp noneradicated cases,the difference was significant(P0.01).③ The recurrence rate of Hp noneradicated cases was 61%,and 5% of Hp eradicated cases.Conclusion:Hp eradication in children can improve the healing rate of peptic ulcer,ulcer recurrence rate is significantly lower.Omeprazole plus two antibiotics in treatment of children with Hp infection associated with peptic ulcer has high efficacy characteristics.
