Abstract

The high frequency regeneration system of tall fescue(Festuca arundinacea)has been established. Systemic researches had been carried for optimizing the components of tall fescue callus inducing medium and callus differentiation medium. The results showed that the callus inducing ratio reached 92% on the modified MS medium (MSM) containing 5 mg/L 2, 4-D and 0.02 mg/L KT. The callus could sustain on the MSM medium containing 4.5 mg/L 2,4-D and 0.2 mg/L KT . After somatic embryos induction on MSM medium containing 2 mg/L 2,4-D and 0.2 mg/L KT, the ratio of callus differentiation on the MSH medium containing 2 mg/L KT and 20 g/L sucrose reached 96%. And the rate of rooting on half strength MS medium reached 100% after culturing 14 d .
