Discussion On Factors Affecting the Blood Platelet Counts

Objective: To discuss the factors affecting the BT-2100 automatic blood cell analyzer in the measurement of platelet (excluding false increase and false decrease) and provide accurate and reliable dignostic basis for clinic. Method: BT-2100 blood-cell-analyzer and visual microscopic method were used at the same time for 60 cases of platelet counting which is not in accord with histogram. The results were compared and analyzed. Result: Microcytic cell made the results of platelet counting on the high side,while PLT with large volume and small volume made the results relatively low. Conclusion: Blood-cell-analyzer in platelet counting is affected by many factors. For PLT counting which is not in accord with histogram,we should analyze the cause and use microscopic method or collect blood again.
