Abstract
[Objective] To investigate the reason of platelet count error detected by blood cell analyzer and its rectified methods.[Methods] Ninety-six samples of abnormal platelet count were collected and detected by both automatic blood cell analyzer, including impedance method and flow cytometry method, and microscopic count.[Results] The following circumstances could result in platelet count error: unsuccessful hemospasia, dependence on anticoagulant, large platelet, microcyte and chylemia.[Conclusion] When platelet count is lower or higher than normal range,we should judge according to platelet histogram, abnormal report indication and microscopic examination of blood smear. It should be corrected by different methods if the result is not consistent with actual situation.
