Abstract

Objective To study the concentration of TNF-α, IL-8 and IL-1β in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD) accompanying with Yang and Qi deficiency syndrome and Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome, and compare the differences between them. Methods The concentration of TNF-α, IL-8 and IL-1β in COPD patients was detected respectively among30 cases with Yang and Qi deficiency syndrome, 30 cases with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome and 30 healthy people who were selected as the control group. Results The cytokine concentration in patients with Yang and Qi deficiency syndrome and Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome was higher than that of the controls, the differences were statistically significant(P 0.01); data of Yang and Qi deficiency syndrome group were higher than those of Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome group, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion Compared with patients with Qi and Yin deficiency, the airway inflammation of patients with Yang and Qi deficiency syndrome was more obvious. The method of reinforcing Yang and strengthening body to delay the development from Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome to Yang and Qi deficiency syndrome can reduce pathological damages caused by the inflammation.
