Abstract
AIM To investigate the efficacy of esomeprazole combined with trimebutine in the treatment for non-erosive reflux disease (NERD). METHODS One hundred and sixty patients with NERD were randomly divided into 2 groups. The treatment group of 80 patients received esomeprazole 40 mg,qd combined with trimebutine 200 mg,tid; and the control group with another 80 patients had esomeprazole alone 40 mg,qd. The clinical efficacy was evaluated with a course of 8 weeks after the treatment according to measurement of reflux diagnostic questionnaire (RDQ). RESULTS The total effective rate in the treatment group was 94% ,while it was 80% in the control group; outcoming with significant difference between the two groups ( P 0.01); and with still more significant improvements of clinical symptoms in the treatment group (P 0.01). CONCLUSION Esomeprazole in combination with trimebutine is rather more helpful to provide the efficacy in treating NERD.
