Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of free fatty acid(FFA) and cystatin C(CysC) in patients with type Ⅱ diabetic nephropathy(DN). Methods A total of 84 patients with DN were enrolled in this study. Another 26 healthy person were selected as a normal control. The patients with DN were divided into three sub-groups: normal albuminuria group(A),microalbuminuria(B)group,and macroalbuminuria(C)group. The levels of serum FFA was detected by enzymatic analysis. The serum levels of CysC were measured with turbidimetric immunoassay. Results The serum levels of FFA and CysC were higher in DN than that in normal control(P0.05,P0.01). There were significant differences of serum FFA and CysC among A,B,and C group(P0.05). However,no significant differences was found in serum creatinine and urea nitrogen detection(P 0.05). Conclusion The high-level expression of FFA and CysC are found in DN patients,and which might play a key role in the pathogenesis and progression of DN.
