Abstract

To investigate the clinical significance of serum cystatin C in the early diagnosis of type 2 diabetic nephropathy,34 patients with early type 2 diabetic nephropathy(T2DN) and 34 patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM) alone were randomly selected as DN group and DM group respectively.Meanwhile 34 healthy subjects were selected as control group.Fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),serum cystatin C(cystatin C),serum creatinine(SCr) and blood urea nitrogen(BUN) were detected in the three groups. Results showed that CysC level in DN group and DM group was significantly higher than control group(P0.05).CysC leve in DN group was significantly higher than DM group(P0.05).SCr and BUN There was no significant difference in SCr and BUN between DN group and DM group(P0.05).Conclusion can be concluded that serum cystatin C is a valuable reference in the early diagnosis of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.
