Clinical Study on the Effect of Valsartan combined with Metoprolol in Aged Chronic Heart Failure

Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of valsartan combined with metoprolol in gerontic patient with chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods 132 cases 60～77(68.5ys) of CHF Ⅱ、Ⅲ grade with NYHA heart function grade were divided into two group:valsartan and metoprolol combination group(n=66),and control group(n=66).All patients were followed up for 180days,including their heart function,LVEF by echocardiography,LVES,LVED,value in the treatment of chronic heart failure was also investigated.Results After 180 days,there were significant differences between combination group and control group in heart function grade,LVEF,LVES,LVED(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion Better clinical results are achieved by valsartan and metoprolol combination therapy in gerontic patients with chronic heart failure,Life quality of patients also improve by the combination therapy.
