Clinical curative effect observation of valsartan combined with metoprolol on chronic congestive heart failure

Objective To investigate the curative effect and clinical safety of valsartan combined with metoprolol on chronic congestive heart failure. Methods 106 patients with chronic congestive heart failure,who were accepted by our hospital from January 2010 to January 2011,were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group(56 cases) and control group(50 cases) . Patients in control group received conventional therapy including cardiac stimulant,diuretic agent,nitrate esters and so on. Patients in treatment group received added valsartan combined with metoprolol on the basis of conventional therapy. The therapy courses of both groups were 6 months. After treatment,the clinical curative effects of both groups were evaluated. Results After 6 months treatment,the total effective rates of treatment group and control group were respectively 91.07% and 78.00%,there was significant difference between them(P0.05) . The indexes reflecting ventricular remodeling,left ventricular systolic and diastolic function were significantly improved in treatment group,while in control group those were not obviously improved,there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.05) . Conclusion Valsartan combined with metoprolol treating chronic congestive heart failure can improve heart function of patients,its curative effect is better than conventional therapy,and it is worth of clinical generalization.
