Abstract
Tumor lymphangiogenesis is a paramount component for tumor metastasis process.Recent experiments indicated that VEGF-C and VEGF-D secreted by tumor cells were able to activate tumor lymphangiogenesis and increase lymphatic metastasis. These findings will lead lymphangiogenesis and its resistant researches to be a focus in the study of lymphatic metastasis and a possible target of therapy. The two have an intimate relationship that lymphangiogenesis can make impact on the tumor metastasis process, and vice versa.
