Analysis of treatment on patients who suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with type II respiratory failure

Objective To study the clinical effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation on the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) with type Ⅱ respiratory failure.Methods 62 patients were divided into two groups randomly,one groups received conventional medical therapy and the other received conventional medical therapy plus noninvasive positive pressure ventilation,to observe the difference of the data in vital sign,arterial blood gas,the rate of endotracheal intubation between two group.Results After treatment,heart rate,respiratory frequency,and arterial blood gas were significantly improved in NIPPV group,the data in trial group were much better than those in control group(P0.01).Conclusion NIPPV was an effective method in the treatment of COPD with type Ⅱ respiratory failure.
