Clinical study of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation in the treatment of 86 cases of COPD with type II respiratory failure

Objective:To investigate clinical efficacy of the non-invasive positive pressure ventilation(NIPPV) in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) with typeⅡrespiratory failure.Methods:Collecting 86 patients with COPD and typeⅡrespiratory failure form January 2007 to January 2009 which period in our hospital,and were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,the control group was given conventional treatment,observation group was also given conventional treatment,on the basis and given NIPPV treatment,and observed the analysis of treatment effect.Results:The heart rate,respiratory rate and arterial blood gases in observation group with improved significantly were better than the control group,in the endotracheal intubation rate,hospital mortality was significantly lower than the control group context,length of stay was significantly shorter than the control group,the difference between the two were statistically significance(P0.05).Conclusion:NIPPV in the treament of COPD patients with typeⅡrespiratory failure is precise curative effect,and respiratory failure may be beneficial to the corrections,it is an effective method to rescue patients with COPD and respiratory failure.
