Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of carvedilol in treatment of chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods:60 patients with CHF were randomly divided into treatment group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases). Two groups were treated with the routine medicine.Carvedilol was added to treatment group. After 6 months of treatment, two groups of improving heart function,LVEF,LVEDD and 6 minutes walk distance change was obserred.Symptoms and signs were recorded. Results:After treatment,The heart function and LVEF significantly increased.LVEDD and 6 minutes walk distance in treatment group reduced significantly. There was significantly difference between the two groups. Conclusion:Carvedilol is effective and safe in treating mild and moderate chronic congestive heart failure, which call improve the remodeling of left ventricle.
