Abstract

Objective To study the clinical value of the 50g oral glucose challenge test(GCT),to screen gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)in different pregnant weeks, and to study the relationships of different pregnant weeks and risk factors to GDM.Method The clinical data of 1,356 pregnant women who underwent GCT from December 2005 to December 2006 in out-patient clinic of our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results We compared the group without risk factors to that with risk factors, there were significant differences of the abnormal rates of GCT and OGCT(P0.05),but when compared the group 24~28 weeks of gestation to that of more than 28 weeks, there was no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusions The incidence rate of GDM is high in those pregnant women with risk factors, and hence glucose screening and glucose tolerance test are necessary for those women.
