Abstract
The tied arch bridge has advantages of great spanning capacity and low architectural height and has been applied in the countries where high-speed railways were built.However,on the high-speed railways in China,the long span steel tied arch bridges have not been actually built so far and there still exit problems remaining to be researched in the design.In this paper,backgrounded by a long span steel tied arch bridge,the finite element program is used to analyze the influences of the design parameters,such as the rise-to-span ratio,ratio of rigidity of tied beam and arch rib,arrangement of lateral bracing system for arch ribs,suspender arrangement and floor system,on the mechanical properties of the structure of the tied arch bridge and at the same time,some of the relatively good proposals for the said parameters are studied in order to provide reference for the designers of the type of the bridges.
