Abstract

Through tied-arch bridges have been widely applied for advantages of reasonable structural stress, economical cost, artistic types and good harmony with surroundings, etc.Urban bridges usually have wide pavements.Ifdesigned based on conventional double-arch ribs through tied-arch bridges, the calculated span of beams is large and usually structural design is controlled. In order to solve this problem, addition of one arch rib in the middle of girder can be adopted to reduce the calculated span of beams and form three-arch ribs tied-arch bridges, however, this will lead to more complicated structural stress. With Wohe No.3 Bridge in Anhui Province as project background, this paper analyzes longitudinal and lateral stress features, dynamic characteristics of three-arch ribs through tied-arch bridges and stability in the state of operation of the finished bridges and obtains some conclusions of significance so as to provide a reference for design of bridges of the same kind.
