Effects of Pipaqingfei Particle Plus on Anti-keratinization and the Level of Testosterone in Rabbit Ear Acne Model

Abstract

Objective To study the effect of Pipaqingfei particle-plus on acne model in rabbits.Methods 5% Pix carbonis solution was coated to rabbit-ears to build animal model.Then the rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: Pipaqingfei particle-plus groups,classical Pipaqingfei-particle group,and Zhenzhu,Anchuang tabulate group.And then,the anti-keratosis actions of the tested drugs were observed by naked eye and by microscope,and the serum testosterone was measured by radioimmunoassay. Results After coating Pix 2 weeks,the surface of rabbilt-ears became rougher,thicker,and the comedone appeared on rabbit-ears.The pathological changes were similar to that of human acne.After giving Pipaqingfei particle-plus 2 weeks later,the acne keratosis was suppressed and the level of testosterone was decreased,and showed dosage-effect relationship. Conclusion Pipaqingfei particle-plus has anti-acne effects.
