Abstract
[Objective] To establish an acne model of rabbit ear and then observe the therapeutic effect of compound traditional Chinese medicine acne gel. [Methods] Pix carbonis dilution(2% concentration of pix carbonis solution with 95% concentration of alcohol) was applied to inside surface of rabbit ears for successive 14 days to prepare the experimental acne model on rabbit ear. The models were confirmed by both naked eye and pathology examination. They were then divided into group A, B, and C randomly, applying 5% acne gel, 10% acne gel and tretinoin to the lesions respectively. After treatment for two weeks, the acne was classified according to a standard and the therapeutic effects was compared between these three groups. [Results] In contrast, these three treatments showed remarkable therapeutic effects compared with before. But the differences among three groups were not significant. [Conclusion] Compound Chinese medicine acne gel has a specific therapeutic effect on experimental rabbit ear acne models.
