Abstract
Aim:To observe the effects of lipid and acne inhibitive cream(LAIC) on acne model of rabbit's ears. Methods:A total of sixteen New Zealand white rabbits were randomly devided into the expermiental group(n=8) and control group(n=8).Oleic acid was applied on expermiental rabbit's ears to establish the acne model of rabbit's ears. The rabbits in treatment group were smeared with LAIC 2 mL once perday for 2 successive weeks. And the LAIC was washing-out in 30 minutes. The rabbits in control group were smeared with tretinoin cream 1 mL once per day.The ears of the rabbits in both groups were observed macroscopically and histologically. Results:In expermiental group, macroscopic observation indicated that the ear skin became thinner and softer, corneous plug in local hair follicle was decreased, pitting hair follicle remained after partial falling of corneous plug, mild peeling, and papules were relived or become flat.Histological observation manifested that thickness of cuticle was relieved, mild follicularorifice was expanded lightly and a few keratinized materials was filled in.In the treatment group, macroscopic observation indicated that the ear skin became thinner and softer, corneous plug in the hair follicle was decreased, papules were relived or became flat.Histological observation manifested that mild hyperkerates was in the epidermis,a few inflammatory cell infiltrations in the dermis and a few keratinized materials were filled in the follicular orifice. There were significant differences in the expermiental group before and after treatment(Z=-3.588,P0.001),there were significant differences in the control group before and after treatment(Z=-3.614,P0.001),and there was no significant difference in the expermiental and control group before and after treatment(Z=-0.620,P=0.535;Z=-0.694,P=0.487).Conclusion:LAIC could improve abnormal cornification of hair follicle in acne.
