Abstract

Objective To understand the correlation between the semen indicators and serum anti-sperm antibody(AsAb) level in the infertility patients. Methods Related semen indicators were detected by routine test.Serum anti-sperm antibody was tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results Of 216 infertility patients, the cases with low sperm density, poor activity and increased WBC in semen showed a high serum AsAb positive rate. The positive rates of surum AsAb in the patients with no sperm and dead sperm were 81.8% and 76.95% respectively.Serum AsAb positive rate was no direct relationship with the volume, liquefaction time and pH of semen. Conclusions Serum AsAb of infertility patients may affect the quantity, motility and activity percentage of sperm.AsAb detection is helpful to finding the cause of male infertility.
