Clinical investigation of edaravone on the treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of edaravone on the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage.Methods One hundred and eigty-nine cases were divided into treatment group(96 cases) and control group(93 cases) randomly.The patients in the treatment group were injected intravenously with edaravone 30 mg twice a day for 14 days.Neurological functional deficit scores were utilized for assessment before given treatment.On the 14th day after treatment,the patients were assessed again and the efficacy was recorded.Results After 14 days treatment,the neurological functional dificit scores of treated group were 11±7,whereas those of the control group were 17±8.It had significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).There were also significant differences between the two groups in terms of effect rate(treatment group 50.0%,control group 22.6%,P0.05) and improvement rate(treatment group 87.5%,control group 61.3%,P0.05).Conclusion Edaravone is effective and safe in the treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage.
