Abstract
Objective To study the clinical effect of trabeculectomy combined with mitomycin C and controlled suture in primary glaucoma. Methods Sixty-one cases(78 eyes) with primary glaucoma were randomized into two groups:the observed group underwent trabeculectomy combined with mitomycin C and controlled suture;the controlled group with traditional trabeculectomy. The intraocular pressure(IOP),filtering blebs, the anterior chamber depth, the visual acuity and other complications were measured and compared between the two groups during 3-14 months after operation. Results In the early stage of postoperation, the incidence of postoperative shallow anterior chamber and other complications in the observed group were less than those in the controlled group, and the IOP and visual acuity of the two groups had no difference. In the late stage of postoperation, the IOP and the incidence of visual acuity loss of the observed group were less than those of the controlled group. Conclusion Trabeculectomy combined with mitomycin C and controlled suture can effectively reduce the incidence of shallow anterior chamber and the scaring of filtering blebs,it can therefore make the eyes get constant normal IOP.It is worthy of application in glaucoma surgical operation.
