Clinical observation of improved compound trabeculectomy for primary glaucoma

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of improved compound trabeculectomy for primary glaucoma.Methods A total of 140 patients(143 eyes) with primary glaucoma were selected as research objects.Senventy patients(71 eyes) treated with improved compound trabeculectomy combining mitomycin C with the adjustable suture in the scleral resection were included into the observation group,70 patients(72 eyes) treated with the traditional trabeculectomy in the same period were included into the control group.The postoperative intraocular pressure,satisfaction rate of operation and complications of the patients in the two groups were observed and compared.Results At the postoperative 1 day,2 weeks and 3 months,the intraocular pressure of the patients in the two groups decreased significantly compared with that before treatment(all P0.05); The postoperative IOP of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(all P0.05).The satisfaction rate of the patients in the two group were 94.3 % and 74.3 %,respectively,there was statistical difference(P0.05).The complication rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,but there was significant difference only in shallow anterior chamber between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The curative effect of improved compound trabeculectomy for primary glaucoma is significant with less complications.
